Polyad awarded follow-on contract to extend Spotsylvania County's SMART SCALE analytics platform
Repeat engagement builds on transportation planning work supporting $57.2 million in state funding for county projects.

Polyad Decision Sciences LLC announced that Spotsylvania County, Virginia, has awarded the company an additional contract to extend the County's SMART SCALE analytics platform. The award continues Polyad's work helping transportation planners evaluate project options, compare funding strategies and make informed decisions about local infrastructure investment.
The Spotsylvania SMART SCALE Analytics Platform is owned by the County, maintained by Polyad and was developed by members of Polyad's staff. It supports the analysis of transportation projects and the selection of project portfolios for submission to Virginia's SMART SCALE funding program.
Virginia's SMART SCALE program evaluates proposed transportation improvements through a structured scoring and prioritization process. For local governments, preparing a submission involves decisions about which projects to advance, how to configure them and how much local funding to commit. Polyad's platform brings these decisions into a common analytical framework, allowing planners to explore scenarios and assess tradeoffs within available budgets.
The new contract builds on an established record of work with Spotsylvania. Polyad's published case study reports that the County secured $57.2 million in state funding in SMART SCALE Round 5, with every submitted project receiving funding. The case study also reports a reduction in the County's cost-share from 46% in Round 4 to 31% in Round 5.
The follow-on engagement extends the platform supporting that planning work and continues the collaboration between Polyad and Spotsylvania County. A public procurement listing, posted April 28, 2026, identifies Polyad Decision Sciences LLC in the County's sole-source award notice, SS 26-38-TS.
